Doha – Mubasher: The Qatar Exchange’s main index dropped by the end of Thursday’s session by 0.08% or 7.7 points to 10,238.17 points.

The All Share Index also sagged 0.08% to 2,858.35 points, while Al Rayan Islamic Index rose 0.18% to 4,054.04 points.

Trading volume shrank 14.9% to 9.16 million shares from 10.77 million shares exchanged yesterday. Turnover also decreased 7.18% to QAR 406.37 million from QAR 438.8 million.

The telecom and real estate were the best performing sectors after rising 1.26% and 0.22% respectively, while insurance was the worst with a fall of 2.09%.

Qatar General Insurance and Reinsurance topped losers after dropping 6.47%, whereas Gulf Commercial Bank outperformed with a 3.37% increase.

Mazaya Qatar was the most traded stock as it saw 1.56 million shares being exchanged at QAR 23.95 million, while Qatar Electricity and Water dominated the values after generating QAR 70.7 million through 342,490 shares.

The benchmark index fell yesterday by 0.42 point to the level of 10,245.87 points.
